I was listening to this lecture the other day, and the teacher gave some really choice advice on something. He said, "one cannot expect to treat their flock well if they don't understand them." I think this is some profound advice because, how can you expect to take care of someone or be close to someone if you, yourself, don't even understand them. I think another piece i derive from this is that, awareness of the state, emotion physical, and otherwise, of a person is important to being able to treat them well. Its like Aristotle's logic of understanding before find exceptional or high value of something. Understand the person and you have the ability do some really kind things. For many of us, we may not see our family as our flock but I like to include mine. They know a ton about me and care a lot about me so why should i not treat them well? Friends are also in this category i would say. It possible that they are the most common thought on this topic. Granted, you can choose your friends. Any how to summarize, know your flock and take care of your flock!
