“Well, if you live long enough, you lose a lot. Just as long as you don't throw them away. Whatever you lose, you'll find again, but what you throw away you never get back."
So for today's quote, I pulled something from my favorite anime series, Rurouini Kenshin. This particular quote i believe doesn't show up in the anime adaptation but it is in the Manga. It is said by Oibore. Anyway, I wanted to talk about something in regards to this idea of "losing and throwing away". If there is truth behind these words, what would you say to a person who throws away their humanity for the purposes of harming others or, rather, those who are weaker?
I would say to them, in their quest for causing harm, they lost something pretty important. Anyone could fall into this by throwing away their humanity for any purpose. But I feel like those in positions of power can fall into this much easier. One must be careful. In a pursuit that one perceives to be just, one might be causing others and even themselves injustice. Instead of causing pain, I would sa,y be mindful of why you are in said situation, position of power, or have authority, and remember the "will to protect" is stronger than the "will to kill or oppress".
Quite the soap box today i feel! haha well i hope it made sense.
enjoy and stay healthy,
