It’s funny how our life circumstances happens to unfold. During the last few weeks of the 2019 year, a close family member told me about something called the Konmari Method, basically only keeping things that bring you joy. Months before, I was questioning why I stayed on social media.
As they were cleaning their closet of stuff, I began deleting some social media. I found it never really yielded the work it was meant for, at least for me. It didn’t really help me stay connected, in fact I felt so detached from those around me. But you know what, It did spark a desire in me, a desire to keep on growing closer connections outside of the screen. So I kept and continued building some solid relationships I already had. The screen became a means to amplify or connect IRL.
So I guess, as I say good by to the decade I started using social media heavily, since my first social was made in 2009, I am now saying hello to renewed form of bonding with my dear ones.
Happy New Year,
